Hello i ve recently been plagued by a problem with certain npc s have completely darkened body textures when loading into a saved game or sometimes when loading a new cell.
Skyrim black roof texture.
New jorrvaskr wood plank texture.
Vanilla skyrim needs at least 512mb of vram.
Added a metal plate to jorrvaskr s interior pillars to fix seams.
Installation just extract the content in the data folder.
It does not appear to be a lighting problem just a texture issue.
If you re running out of vram that can indeed lead to black textures or even ctds.
Don t know if it works but you will not have any issues.
Skyrim ranging from 1k resolution in lite version up to some 8k textures in the full version.
I ve installed many texture mods through the nexus mod manager and everything seemed okay until i walked into markarth i installed an hd texture pack for it.
So what happens is your video card will choke on the huge file size.
Although it has been happening more so recently than i ve noticed previously.
Simple thing to do is either use a smaller file size body texture or use texture optimizer program to reduce the file size.

If you re using a lot of mods that add high res textures like the optional bethesda dlc you ll probably need up to 1 5gb or even more if you re going nuts with 4k texture mods.

Random items and world objects such as bars in inns and armor in the smithing menu get this dark black texture on it and each time i reload skyrim it s something different.
