Im trying to place a sloped roof but it keeps on snapping to the floor how do i get it to snap to the walls.

Use the sloped walls to support the sloped roof.

Only ramps snap to their short side not to the long side.
Contrary to popular belief an anchor point does not necessarily have to be situated above the work location.
You need two snap points to be able to reliably place a sloped ceiling.

As reference plane for this i have used a sloped roof which i copied from the architectural revit file.

This allows users to create an anchor point on the other side of the sloping roof.
Currently only have thatch walls.
Even if you demolish it later having them in helps it snap.

Just place a few thatch walls to see how the roofs snap.
And they dont snap to their short side only the long side.
So you cant start a sloped roof with.
